Our Services

At Jervis Bay Chiropractic we see a cross section of patients from athletes with injuries, people looking for pain relief or management of long standing conditions, to people who want greater mobility or simply want to maximise their health.

We don’t offer “a one size fits all” approach to your treatment, and use a variety of adjusting styles from manual adjustments to the very gentle low force techniques combined with other modalities such as Dry Needling, Low Level Laser Therapy and home-based exercise programs.

We take a comprehensive approach to your care and tailor the treatment program to the individual with sound rehabilitation and lifestyle strategies.

Chiropractic

Many people are stuck in a cycle of pain and dysfunction and have lost the ability to connect with their body and feel well. Chiropractic utilizes a holistic whole body approach to diagnose and manage disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system.

Historically the cornerstone of chiropractic care is spinal manipulation, or adjustments. At Jervis Bay Chiropractic we use a multi-modality approach to your care. Patients appreciate Chiropractic’s emphasis on natural healing and patient-centred care. Once over the initial complaint that leads patients to Chiropractic, many often continue with regular visits to help maintain spinal health and prevent future issues, promoting long-term wellness and improved quality of life.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique to treat myofascial pain. Thin acupuncture needles are inserted into trigger points within muscles to relieve pain and spasm and enhance lengthening of the muscle.

This helps alleviate muscular pain and tension, enhance circulation of micro-nutrients, and promote healing in affected areas.

Low Level Laser Therapy

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-intensity lasers to stimulate tissue healing, reduce inflammation, improve both vascular and lymphatic circulation, and alleviate pain. Lasr also promotes cellular regeneration, making it effective for musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, and various inflammatory conditions.

Jervis Bay Chiropractic is one of the few clinics in the Shoalhaven to offer Low Level Laser Therapy which can be used as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with standard chiropractic modalities.

Spinal Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic technique used to realign the spine and improve joint function. By applying a controlled force to specific areas, adjustments alleviate pain, enhance mobility, and removes irritation to adjacent soft tissues and nerves, promoting overall wellness by supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

Manual adjustments involve hands-on techniques, while instrument adjustments use a special tool to apply a less forceful controlled pressure. The later being suitable for elderly patients or those with underlying conditions.

Exercise Therapy

We know Chiropractic works well on its own, however to get the best out of your care, a tailored exercise program you can do at home enhances the effects of your treatment received in clinic.

This part of your rehabilitation and pathway to restoring your musculoskeletal function and well being, will be designed to meet your individual needs, taking into consideration any underlying issues which may affect your ability to perform exercises.

We are also more than happy to work with any other therapists you may be seeing.

Soft Tissue Work

Soft tissue work involves manual therapy techniques that target muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (connective tissue).

Techniques such as specific soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release are used to address muscle tension, remove restrictions in the fascia and promote relaxation.

Trigger point therapy identifies those hard to shift “knots” or areas of taught muscle fibres whithin the muscle, often causing localised or referred pain. This technique may be applied by manual pressure to the trigger point or alternatively using Dry Needling.
