Neck Pain

Neck pain often presents alongside recurrent headaches and often secondary to repetitive strain injuries (RSI) of the shoulder region or old whiplash injuries.

Chiropractors begin with a comprehensive assessment to identify the cause of pain, which may include spinal misalignments, muscle tension, or injury. Treatment typically involves spinal adjustments to realign the cervical spine and alleviate nerve irritation. Manual adjustments may be administered to appropriate patients, however, some patients are more suited to non-manual adjusting techniques which may include more gentle instrument adjusting techniques.

In addition to cervical adjustments, soft tissue massage & stretching, Dry Needling and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is often incorporated into the treatment session. Rehabilitation exercises may be prescribed to strengthen neck muscles and enhance flexibility. Education on posture and ergonomics is also provided to prevent future issues.

A recent study published by the highly acclaimed Lancet medical journal, showed when LLLT and Chiropractic adjustments were used together for neck pain, the participants gained double the improvement when compared to the participants that received only LLLT or Chiropractic adjustments.
