Please allow up 1 hour for this visit.

At your initial consultation, the chiropractor will gather detailed information about your health history, current symptoms, and lifestyle. This helps the chiropractor understand your concerns, goals and determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition. Following this discussion, a comprehensive physical examination is conducted to evaluate how your nervous and musculoskeletal systems are functioning. If xrays are required, we can refer you to one of our local radiologists.

Based on a collaboration of the information gained during this visit, the chiropractor will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to address your specific needs and goals. Most patients will recieve some treatment at their fist visit provided there are no contraindications indicating treatment should be delayed.

Overall, the first visit is designed to establish a foundation for effective chiropractic care and ensure that you are comfortable with the planned approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No you don’t. However, we are happy to work with your GP or any other healthcare professional you are currently seeing.

Do I need to have xrays?

This really depends on the results of your initial visit and examination. If you require xrays, you will be referred to a local radiologist. If you have already had some form of imaging, please bring these or the report with you for your initial consultation.

What type of education do Chiropractors receive?

Australian Chiropractors are 5 year university trained, and are government registered and regulated. A Chiropractors education never ends. After entering practice, all Chiropractors must complete annual continuing professional development education, to upgrade and improve their skills and stay current on the latest scientific research.

Is Chiropractic safe?

In the words of the New Zealand Government’s Inquiry, chiropractic care is “remarkably safe”. Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs. Where there are underlying issues, the procdures used will be modified accordingly.

How long will I need Chiropractic care?

The answer to this question largely depends on your condition and goals.

Long standing spinal problems don’t just go away with one or two visits. These long standing problems are often associated with muscle weakness, soft tissue damage to the spine, and often require ongoing supportive care for optimum spinal function.

Most patients benefit from preventative check ups to help keep them in tip-top shape and prevent re-occurrence after their initial complaint resolves. Others prefer to seek Chiropractic only when their aches and pains become unbearable. How long you decide to benefit from Chiropractic is always up to you.

What results can I expect?

Individual experience varies from person to person, but most patients can expect benefits soon after beginning care and for these to consolidate further as therapy continues.
